The attractiveness of silver for antimicrobial hygiene protection continues to grow. Parallel to this development, the question is often raised about how safe it is to use silver products. SANITIZED would like to provide the latest information about this: An important aspect must be mentioned at the outset: SANITIZED very intentionally does not use nanosilver.
When developing the silver products, SANITIZED took great care to ensure that the product is permanently bonded with the textile product. The result is very good wash fastness.
The minimum amounts of silver ions, which are dissolved during the washing process, are practically all reduced to insoluble silver sulfide through the sulfurous compounds found practically everywhere and thus made inactive. According to current scientific knowledge, silver sulfide is considered as biologically inactive because of its practically evanescent solubility. Sulfur containing compounds are particularly abundant in waste water and sewage treatment plants so that precisely there the conversion into harmless silver sulfide takes place very quickly. A study by the German Federal Environmental Protection Agency (UBA) from 2008 confirms this harmlessness.
