Collins & Aikman bags orders from domestic automakers

Auto fabric supplier Collins & Aikman Corporation announced that it has recently been awarded contracts to supply future accessory mat programs by two different “new domestic” automakers.
"They acknowledge the need to support this growing customer base and appreciate their confidence in their ability to deliver product for these programs," said Frank Macher, President and Chief Executive Officer. "They are committed to exceeding their expectations and providing the highest level of quality and technical support they expect from their suppliers."
Collins & Aikman will grow its position as the leader in the U.S. accessory mat segment by winning these contracts. Collins & Aikman will utilize its patented Akro Edge technology when supplying complete accessory mat sets for the luxury mid-size sedan and a serged-edge construction supporting the luxury sports sedan models beginning in 2006.
Collins & Aikman's Albemarle, North Carolina; Canton, Ohio; and Holmesville, Ohio facilities will produce the components to support the programs.
