Ibrahim Fibre – the Pakistan based major producer of polyester staple fibre (PSF) will set up a third plant to produce the raw material.

“The new PSF plant will have a capacity of around 235,000 tons per annum and will be set up at an investment of US $250 million”, Mr. Shahid Amin, Director - Ibrahim Fibre informed fibre2fashion.

Ibrahim Fibre currently operates a 70,000 ton / year and a 140,000 ton / year, polyester staple fibre plants.

The company sells its full PSF production in the Pakistani domestic market, where supply is not able to meet the high demand for the fibre.

Mr Amin added, “The construction of the building is already started and partly completed also. The machinery will start arriving in Pakistan next month. We hope to make it operational by the fourth quarter of 2012”.

Providing more details, he said, “It will be the latest plant with German technology and is being built in a way that, there is symmetry between the new plant and the existing plants”.

The group also operates spinning mills with an installed capacity of 137,088 spindles and produces various types of polyester/cotton and polyester/viscose blended yarns.
