In partnership with Infor, a supplier of business application software, the Institute of Logistics at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized a round table conference for the second time last month, under the theme “Adoption of Fashion-Focussed Technology - A Perfect Fit” focusing on Fashionomics: The New Economics of Fashion.

“The fashion industry is witnessing a paradigm shift in the competitive sphere and hence fashion businesses need technologies that help to accelerate thinking, streamlining decision making, reduce costs and improve agility,” Infor says.

The main objective of the conference was to demonstrate the business benefits of adopting applications which are simple to use, beautiful, and can help provide continued competitive edge by achieving high quality standards and at the same time reduce costs and risks attached.

Bino George, Head of Pre-Sales, Infor India and a keynote speaker said, “With Indian fashion industry bolstered by globally changing trends, it’s pertinent for businesses to use the right strategy and tools that can help hike productivity, generate higher ROI and faster time to market.”

He added, “Infor is working collaboratively with enterprises to help address their industry challenges as we provide specialized, purpose-built solutions that consolidate financials, sourcing, manufacturing, supply chain, sales and distribution management information into one coherent view of operations.”

As an integrated, configurable solution, Infor Fashion helps businesses manage the entire fashion process-from design, development, and sourcing to production, distribution, customer service, and finance.

Infor Fashion is a suite of software products designed specifically for small- to large-sized fashion, apparel, footwear, accessories, luxury goods, and textile companies.”

“CII - Institute of Logistics organized this conference to provide our members with insights into the best technology practices in the fashion sector, which was supported by Infor as the knowledge & strategy partner and content provider,” said KV Mahidhar, Head at CII Institute of Logistics.

Veterans and experts from fashion and retail technology addressed brand and logistical challenges faced by the apparel-textile-fashion industry in India, highlighting the need for demand planning and forecasting, managing inventories and collaborating effectively with value chain partners. (AR)
