Infor Automotive Essentials fuels growth for Aunde Fabrics

Infor announced that Aunde Brazil, a manufacturer of fabrics for vehicle interiors, including seat covers, car roofs and door panels, has replaced several of its enterprise application tools with Infor Automotive Essentials, a suite of enterprise software solutions for automotive companies.

The software suite enables Aunde to fully integrate all of its manufacturing operations into one system, optimizing the planning and control of its processes. The business-specific capabilities of Infor Automotive Essentials have helped Aunde reduce its levels of inventory, increase productivity and eliminate waste.

Before the implementation, Aunde managed production, planning and monitoring using internally-developed spreadsheets. “We were using several tools across our plants for the same purpose, which was not reliable and did not give us visibility into all of our production procedures,” explains Jose Carlos de Souza, administrative and finance manager at Aunde.

“We needed a solution that would integrate the business processes across our three manufacturing facilities in Brazil. Thanks to Infor, we can now seamlessly manage operations, improve communication among our sites and gain greater visibility across our branches. Infor Automotive Essentials provides faster and more accurate data collection and analysis, enabling us to make better informed business decisions so we have less overtime expenses and fewer accounting errors.”

Aunde has a complex production process, manufacturing more than 400 products that generate 3,000 items, from raw fabric to the final product, including design, dying, cut and sew, and foam production.

To simplify this complex process, Infor Automotive Essentials provides Aunde with real-time identification and tracking of all products - from procurement to delivery to customers. Aunde supplies its products to Fiat, Ford, General Motors, Volkswagen, Peugeot, and Marcopolo; and exports to Argentina, Mexico and the United States.

Due in part to the enhanced production control gained through Infor Automotive Essentials, as well as Aunde´s strong business performance, the company has increased its revenue in 2007 by 15 percent, reaching R$ 250 million (approx USD $148 M).

Infor Automotive Essentials helped Aunde streamline the following business processes: material tracking, logistics management, production control, product lifecycle management, inventory control, purchase management, preventive maintenance, and financial management.

“According to the ANFAVEA (National Association of Automotive Manufacturers in Brazil) the automotive industry in Brazil is seeing record growth, 30 percent in January and February 2008, compared with same period in 2007,” states Celso Pereira Tomé Rosa, Infor sales vice president, Brazil.

“Effectively managing production facilities to meet demand in this environment is very challenging for all automotive suppliers. Infor Automotive Essentials provides the built-in functionality that these companies need to meet these challenges and be more enterprising.”
