Intellifit-indiDenim to launch the Custom Jeans Center

Consumers now have the ability to affordably purchase custom-made jeans designed for their exact measurements through a new partnership with the leader in body scanning technology, Intellifit, and custom apparel company indi through its new custom jeans brand, indiDenim.

The partnership offers a solution for the apparel industry that is poised to both transform the way consumers purchase apparel and also address the number one concern consumers have regarding apparel – correct body fit.

Both Intellifit and indiDenim also announce the launch of the “Custom Jeans Center.” The two initial centers are located at each company's respective locations, just outside of Philadelphia and San Francisco. Using Intellifit's and indi's technologies, the centers enable consumers to design their own custom-made jeans in-person with a guarantee of a precise fit.

At the Custom Jeans Center, the customer enters a see-through Intellifit Virtual Fitting Room measuring 8 feet high and 7 feet wide. Safe, low-power radio waves collect numerous, accurate body measurements of the customer over a period of 20 seconds, creating a personal “FitPrint”.

The customer then designs their pair of jeans online at the indiDenim site, choosing from a selection of styles and washes, and specifying details such as pocket shape and design, stitching and personalization options.

indi's technology incorporates the customer's FitPrint with their selected design preferences to create a one-of-a-kind pattern. The jeans are custom-cut according to the pattern, sewn and shipped directly to the customer in about 4 weeks.

“Once someone wears a pair of custom-made jeans, it's hard to go back to the rack,” said Rob Weber, Intellifit President. “Our process brings retail custom-made jeans into a price point where many more fashion consumers can afford them."

Marybeth Luber, indi's President, explained "Our ability to customize the fit while offering extensive style variations such as fabric, rise and leg style cannot be replicated by a traditional retailer given constraints on inventory that typically limit the style and size selection. Previously, consumers could spend days shopping for their perfect pair of jeans, which they can now create in minutes at a Custom Jeans Center."
