Roland MDX-40A Education Solution – CAD/CAM Applications CNC milling is an essential component of product design, rapid prototyping and manufacturing. With a Roland MDX-40A Education Solution, students can learn Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing.
With the MDX-40A Education Solution, beginning students can learn CAD/CAM and complete entire projects from design to production in just one or two class hours. Parts for many projects can be individually milled in minutes – not hours – allowing every student to leave class with a completed project. The program also supports the needs of intermediate and advanced students involved in creating more complex 3D parts.
The affordable Roland MDX-40A milling machine is easy to set up and use, yet exceptionally versatile. Easy-to-use CAM and simulation software is included. Unlike 3D printers, functional prototypes and parts can be produced out of a wide variety of non-proprietary materials including ABS, acrylic, chemical woods, plaster and styrene with greater precision and better surface finish. Non-proprietary materials and no annual maintenance costs mean dramatic cost savings over 3D printers.
The MDX-40A supports G-code, allowing educators greater flexibility and ease of integration with sophisticated design programs including Mastercam, EdgeCAM, SurfCAM and GibbsCAM. Optional accessories include a rotary 4th axis for unattended 360 degree milling and a 3D scanning attachment for reverse engineering.
