Singapore-based Perpetual Global Technologies, which manufactures esters from post-consumer polyethylene terephthalate bottles, will expand its annual production capacity at its plant in Nashik, India, to 10,000 tonnes from 8,000 tonnes now by 2018 fourth quarter, according to CEO Vivek Tandon. Work is under way to treble that figure to 30,000 tonnes, he said.

The target is to recycle nearly 8 million plastic PET bottles per day at the Nashik plant, he told Fibre2Fashion in an interview.

The company has also started the global rollout of its unique technology and is discussing with partners to build a further 200,000 tonnes of production capacity by end of 2021, he added. (DS)
