Dr. Stefan Heng

Stefan Heng is Professor for Digital Media at Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University in Mannheim, Germany. He holds a PhD and a Master's Degree in Economics from University of Mannheim. His thesis analyses the economic impact of road traffic on various sectors in Germany.

Besides teaching Stefan analyses the economic impact of digital transformations. Here, he focuses on telecommunications, electrical engineering, and media industry. Stefan's latest research projects explore the economic effects of NGA rollout, electro-medicine, industry 4.0, augmented reality, and sharing economy.

Before moving to Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University Stefan worked as Senior Economist at DB Research, the chief economist's think tank of Deutsche Bank Group. There he analysed the digital transformation. Among others, Stefan took part in an exchange programme with German Ministry and he worked on Wall Street.

Stefan started his academic career as research assistant at University of Mannheim. There he worked in an international research group of German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG).

Stefan has many research papers on his credit.

Among others, he is affiliated to the advisory council of a German Association, and to Young Leader to the Atlantic Bridge Association (Atlantikbrücke). Besides, he is active in the 'Broadband Summit'. Also, he is in the prize committee for a future award.
