Chinese investment in Indian infrastructure mooted

Chinese involvement in Indian infrastructure development was welcome by India, concveyed Sanjaya Baru, senior advisor to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Indian shipping industry executives said that proposal to consider Chinese bids in infrastructure development, has created an avenue for Hong Kong-based Hutchison Port Holdings to corner port projects in Mumbai and Chennai.
The world's largest container port operator's original bid, for a $270 million container terminal development in Mumbai, was earlier not considered.
