John Varvatos ropes in Peter D Arnold as President

Menswear collections gallery John Varvatos Enterprises Inc announced that Peter D. Arnold has been appointed President of John Varvatos Enterprises, Inc., reporting to Mr. John Varvatos, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. His appointment will take place in August 2005. The title of President was formerly held by John Varvatos.

Mr. Arnold, 46 years old, joins John Varvatos from the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) where he has been the Executive Director for four years. Prior to joining the CFDA, Mr. Arnold was a partner, specializing in corporate transactions, at the law firm Sidley Austin Brown & Wood LLP.

Mr. Arnold brings to the company a profound understanding and appreciation of the industry from his years at the CFDA, a proven track record of leadership and motivation, and a valuable legal and business background. In his new role, Peter will work closely with John Varvatos to further develop and implement the company's business strategy as it moves forward over the next several years.

"I have come to know and respect John and his company during my time at the CFDA," said Mr. Arnold. "He is that rare combination in our world of a major design talent who is expert in the business of fashion. I am eager to work with him to move John Varvatos Enterprises forward."
