Almost 650 businessmen participated in the ABIT Circuit for International Market Studies in all five states in which the event was held.

Nearly 2900 products were analyzed by the consultants for quality, technology, finishing and price with the objective of penetrating the German, Spanish, Mexican, Canadian, and Portuguese markets.

“I recommend the practice of the three 'Ps' for Brazilian businessmen who want to enter or increase their foreign market shares: patience, preparation and persistence,” said Mexican consultant, Gabriela Quincas.

Despite being considered the most difficult market to enter of all those present, the Canadian market also offers good opportunities for product niches.

However, since the Canadian has a higher per capita income and spends more on apparel, it is a very sought after market.

“You must be patient, and patience in this case is not measured by the amount of time employed, but by the investments needed,” stated James O'Farrell, the Canadian consultant.

Tomorrow, the consultants will evaluate 25 brands from Rio and Espírito Santo in the technical showroom that will be held at the FIRJAN.

At the end of this stage, the consultants will return home to their respective countries to locate and contact the appropriate buyers for the products they got to know in Brazil.

ABIT intends to hold business meetings with these buyers next year. This was the first ABIT Circuit.

In 2006, ABIT intends to hold another round of presentations, with other market studies that are being analyzed at this time, as well as the meetings with buyers that result from this first Circuit.
