Complete BKMEA workers database by Dec: Bangla minister

Bangladesh state minister for labour and employment Mohammad Mujibul Haque recently urged the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) to complete the database of workers of its member companies by December so that the workers are not deprived of facilities from the government fund for the readymade garments sector.
He conveyed this at a meeting of readymade garments statekholders at his ministry, according to a news agency report.
Though the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has a huge number of workers, it has already completed its workers database, he added. (DS)
