Doors now open at H&M's first store in India

H&M Hennes & Mauritz, a Swedish multinational retail clothing company, known for its fast-fashion clothing for men, women, teenagers and children, has today opened its first store in India at Select Citywalk mall in New Delhi.

H&M CEO Karl-Johan Persson, H&M India country manager Janne Einola, and store manager Kapil Vig cut the red ribbon to welcome customers to the store spread across more than 25,000 square feet. More than 2,500 H&M fans lined up prior to the ribbon cutting for the official launch of the city's new fashion destination.

“We have been waiting for this day for a long time now and this fabulous response is truly worth the wait! I am hopeful that Indian customers will enjoy our diverse offering and find fashion inspiration in the store,” said Einola.

H&M, known for offering fashion and quality at the best price in a sustainable way, would offer women's, men's, and children apparel and accessories at the new store. It will present a wide selection of latest trends and timeless classics for customers, the company said in a press statement.

The second H&M store is scheduled to open at Ambience Mall in New Delhi by the end of this year, which would be followed by another store at VR mall in Bangalore next year. (RKS)
