The themes
Retro Maritime has attractive classical colours such as off-white, sand, navy and a bright reddish orange. Prints are dominated by big chains, Vichy and graphic patterns. Fits are mainly cropped, including Capri and Cigarette pants. A smart look will be in evidence, expressed in sharp creases, contrasting galloons and side seam pipings. High-quality interior finish and waistband linings are reminiscent of the Menswear Collection.
Candy Colours stands for powder pastels, inspired by the American lifestyle of the 50s and 60s. Lemon sorbet, watery mint and delicate rosé can be found alongside tranquil basic colours: sand, taupe and light grey. Tone-on-tone printed motifs with flowing animal-like patterns appear light and playful, with flowers turning legs into perfect floral displays. Fade-out effects and blurred batik effects serve to underline the lightness of the theme. The colour theme is harmoniously accompanied by copper as a new metallic colour in numerous accessories. The predominantly cropped 5-pocket shapes are presented, among other things, with a gentle silky & soft shine. Another major role is played by Tencel and delicate cottons with a certain silkiness and blurred, seemingly sun-bleached cotton materials.
One major trend theme is Black & White. Here the emphasis is on domino effects, with black and white presented next to each other in graphic and ornamental prints or in contrast with one other, e.g. in classical galloons. A clean look in micro polyester and new techno-qualities is reflected in slim-fit pencil and jogging styles. Delicate details: High-gloss silver accessories and cloth-covered buttons.
Tropical Flair shows: Colour is here to stay! Orange, peppery green, gold ochre, pink and deep purple are reminiscent of the colour palette of a tropical jungle. Shiny poplin – a silky, slightly glossy cotton – adds some brilliant radiance to the colour.
Prints are especially conspicuous in this theme, ranging from plants and leaves through animal prints and animal hide effects to Hawaiian and ethnic patterns. One important shape is Chino which shows itself especially slim-fit, casual and slightly cropped.
The Menswear Collection has included a clear sustainability theme since 2007, when GARDEUR put its Fairtrade trousers on the market for the first time. Atelier GARDEUR is now also presenting two pairs of sustainably manufactured women’s trousers. Made in Green stands for denims produced with less water and electricity than unconventional denims. By adding Tencel, the authentic drainpipes are given an especially soft touch.
