People’s demand for clothing, in general, has a direct relation to the nation’s per capita Gross Domestic Product (GDP), according to market analysts.

According to international experience, when the per capita GDP is less than US$ 3,000, people’s demand for clothing is mainly for keeping themselves warm.

However, when the per capita GDP is in the range of US$ 3,000-5,000, the demand for clothing will greatly increase and people will seek clothing items for fashion, health and comfort.

At present, per capita GDP in China is just over US$ 5,000, and therefore the Chinese citizens’ demand for clothing and other textiles will further increase, according to experts.
