Pantaloon Retail reports record 67.01% gain in April sales

Pantaloon Retail (India) Limited retail sales for the month of April 2006 stood at Rs. 180.55 crores as against Rs. 108.11 crores during the same period last year, recording a YoY growth of 67.01 percent .

For Value Retailing, sales were at Rs. 133.34 crores as against Rs. 71.78 crores during the same period last year, recording a YoY growth of 85.76 percent.

For Lifestyle Retailing, the company recorded sales of Rs. 47.21 crores as against Rs. 36.33 crores during the same period last year, recording a YoY growth of 29.95 percent.

Same store growth in Value Retailing for April stood at 83.81 percent and for Lifestyle Retailing at 43.40 percent. The above sales figures for the month of April 2006 and April 2005 include Shop in Shop (SIS) sale of Rs. 6.40 crores and Rs. 9.48 crores respectively.

Home Solutions Retail (India) Limited launched its first two stores in Indore – Collection I, the lifestyle furniture store and E-Zone, the lifestyle experience store for electronics.

The company also set up Electronics Bazaar's and Furniture Bazaar's catering to the value segment through its Big Bazaar stores. Further, it also launched its own private labels in the electronics and appliances categories- KORYO and SENSEI.
