In the recent years, the US is emerging as key and strategic export market for textile and garment goods, affected by the successful venture into Mexico that eased penetration into the region, official sources said.
The US has been on top of importers of Vietnamese textile and garment goods for many years with year-on–year sharp growth.
Besides, Mexico has been accelerating imports of the goods from the country.
During the first eight months of 2006, Mexico poured in US $26 million to buying such Made–in–Vietnam goods, recorded year–on–year rise of 33 percent, including major goods of Jacket, overcoat, sweater and trousers.
