Madura Garments plan new business unit to expand globally

India's premium branded apparel company, Madura Garments, the flagship company of A V Birla Group, has unveiled plans reorganize its export business with a launch of a planned business unit to raise export earnings.
Industry veterans man the new unit led by recently appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO), Partho Kar, and will also cater to global clients with the establishment of the new manufacturing unit.
Director & Head of Madura Garments, Vikram Rao informed that the move was to gain benefits of post-quota scenario in contract exports.
He said, "It will be advantageous to our contract exports, up till then mixed up with our brands and branded exports, the much-needed focused attention."
The company owns largest branded apparel retail business in the local market with a range of smash hit brands such as Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly and Peter England.
