Sales turnover of clothing distributor Damartex arises to 294.0 M€

Clothing distributor Damartex released the turnover of the first six months of the exercise 2006-2007. The sales turnover arises to 294.0 M€ at the end of December, in withdrawal of 3.3% compared to last year on similar date. It is registered in fall of 5.3% over the first quarter and 2.0% over the second quarter.

France is in retreat of 4.5% over the six-month period (- 5.8% in the first quarter and -3.7% in the second quarter) the International one posts a withdrawal more limited of 1.4% (- 4.5% in the first quarter and +0.8% in the second quarter).

The activity was affected mainly by the weakness of consumption in clothing, in particular in France. This one is the consequence of an abnormally high level of the temperatures during all the Automne season - Winter.

Like it was indicated at the time of the last General meeting, the efforts of investment medium term logically will weigh on the results: widening of the line of goods, redeployment of the information systems, international development.

Nevertheless, vis-a-vis the current environment, Damartex implements and will put specific action plans to optimize commercial and financial management in the short and medium term.
