Mr Nivard Cabraal, Central Bank Governor while speaking at a public forum on April 30 said that working closely with the apparel industry will go in favor of mitigating risks of losing GSP+ scheme.

Mr Cabraal stated, “We definitely want the banks to address this issue and have a plan to fall back on. Banks should work closely with the apparel industry in order to mitigate the risk of losing GSP+, should Sri Lanka lose it when the EU reviews the country's claims to the concessions under the scheme later this year”.

In other words, banks and other industries are reasoning out every possibility that will ensure to bag GSP+ for Sri Lanka.
