Recently, Bureau Veritas Consumer Product Services Vietnam together with Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (Vitas) held a workshop titled 'Understanding the impact of CPSIA to your business' at SANDING TAM, textile and garment auxiliary trading center in Ho Chi Minh City.
Earlier it was decided that since November 12, this year, textile and garment products exported to US must be tested and licensed a General Certificate of Conformity and kids apparel must be tested in the third laboratory authorized by US's Consumer Product Safety Committee.
The effect of Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) had many impact on Vietnamese textile and garment exporters. Therefore, the workshop aims to provide exporters a comprehensive understanding of this act to ensure for their business.
Speaking at the workshop, Mr Le Quoc An, Chairman of Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group affirmed, "Unless our products meet the regulations of this Act, they will be unable to enter US market".
