FGL & Columbia Sportswear partner for Sport Chek program

Canada's largest sporting goods retailer The Forzani Group Ltd (FGL) announced that long time major supplier Columbia Sportswear Company partners with The Power of Sport for Kids Program. Sport Chek, through The Forzani Group Foundation presents this program in partnership with Rogers Sportsnet.
Sport Chek continues to demonstrate its passion about the impact that playing sports has on kids, with the launch of their new partnership with Columbia Sportswear Company. "This is a natural fit between Canada's #1 sports retailer and one of the world's leading outerwear brands, Columbia Sportswear Company", explains Sport Chek's VP, Corporate Marketing, Hubert Wat.
"Together with partners like Columbia, The Power of Sport for Kids program can now provide warm jackets that are essential for kids and families in need and who would otherwise have to brave Canada's cold winters without one. It also allows these kids to enjoy their favourite sports outdoors".
The latest recipient of the twofold sporting goods and clothing contribution is The Vancouver Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau.
The Bureau not only provides necessary items to low-income families in Vancouver but they also have established a formal warm clothing program - Coats for Kids - whereby Columbia contributed a vast assortment of new jackets for kids, youth and families.
Sportsnet filmed the gift-giving event with the help of 'Santa's helpers' from Sport Chek, and Columbia. Sportsnet will televise this feature in December.
