US-based global internet giant Google opted for upcycled socks by Kingly, a European promotional apparel and merchandise brand specialising in sustainable production, to give as ‘thank you’ gifts to its partners and employees. The company produced 34,000 pairs of upcycled socks for Google, resulting in the conservation of 24 million litres of water.

The yarn used by Kingly for the promotional socks is upcycled (mechanically recovered), which in turn tops every environmental benefit of recycled textile yarn. Additionally, through its work with Google, it reduced energy consumption by 90.168 kWh of electricity and also avoided the use of 1,826 kg of pollutants, the company said on its website.

“We believe that the most important part of our business is creating an unbreakable trust with our customers. They know they can count on us to deliver promotional merchandise beyond their expectations in record time – all underpinned by responsibly sourced raw materials and carefully researched sustainable methods of production,” Kingly said.

Kingly has been accredited by the sustainability platform BCOME Cradle-To-Grave.
