Raymond, Lanificio Fedora JV to manufacture wollen fabrics, blankets

In order to leverage the strengths of its brands within domestic and international market, Raymond Ltd has signed a joint venture agreement with Italy's leading woollen fabric manufacturer - Lanificio Fedora.
In a company statement issued to Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on June 9, the Raymond board approved the setting up of a 50:50 joint venture with Lanificio Fedora to manufacture and sell blankets, shawls and carded woollen fabrics at Jalgaon in Maharashtra.
Besides technical assistance from Lanificio Fedora, the new partnership enhances Raymond's manufacturing capacity from 1.5 million metres per annum to 2.5 million metres per annum in the first phase of the implementation of the venture.
