Leading international fabric, trim and denim suppliers will present more than 400 collections featuring their preview programmes and current developments for AW 20/21 season at View Premium Selection fair (July 16-17) in Munich, Germany. It will provide textile industry with insight into current material innovations, colour trends and future-oriented qualities.

The focus for AW 20/21 is on expressive, distinct velvets, vinyls, reflective surfaces, cords, transparencies, batiks, jacquards, burnouts, new camouflage and leopard prints, as well as glitz and glamour in surprising colour combinations and in a diverse range of techniques. On the other hand, there is a new circular holistic approach which showcases bio-based or bio-engineered materials, new alternative qualities and the revitalisation of recycling and post-consumer waste, said a press release from View Premium Selection.

Sustainability is set to reach an entirely new dimension. This has been determined through discussions about sustainability, conscious consumption, resource saving processes, efficiency and quality, with weaving mills and producers, dressmakers, design teams and buyers. An important part of this is the ubiquitous topic of digitising materials. Properly developed and established, it promises both more sustainable and more efficient process solutions across the entire value chain, especially in design.

“Sustainability is part of almost all discussions we are currently having with our customers. To get all the information right, we’ve just released a special digital portfolio that shows all of our current sustainable product capabilities. Sustainability is something we work on every day. Our innovation and product development teams are constantly looking for new alternatives. This is not just about alternative materials but also the improvement of work processes. Digital sample development and our online care label generator are just two examples of what is on our agenda,” said Sandra Bornemann, design & marketing, Bornemann Etiketten.

For the first time, a selection of Resource articles will be presented at View enabling the early sourcing of sustainable and ecologically certified fabrics and trims. The latest material innovations include those from Dutel Creation, Bornemann Etiketten, Yilmaz Tekstil and Tejidos Royo.

New providers at View are Alfa Fi Lematex, Bolognini, Eurostuffs, Eurotessile, Giolica, Lan Cipriani, Lan Guasti, Lan Nova Fides, Leathertex- Lenzi Egisto, Manifattura the Carmignano, Mario Cambi & G, Texlover, and TGM International, from Italy, Yagi from Japan, Kipas Denim from Turkey and Escher Textil from Germany, among others.
