In spite of weak performance in the beginning of festive trading period, net pre-Christmas sales of departmental store Liberty went up considerably.
Trade improved rapidly in first week of this month and Liberty achieved highest sales in a day. Luxury fashion accessories, elegant jewellery and beauty products were best sellers with sales rising to £1 million in two successive days.
Company is planning to penetrate global markets. It incurred losses of £1.6 million over sales of £20 million in first half of this year.
Liberty is considered to be a powerhouse in West End, which brings in attractive merchandise and perfect services in an unmatched retailing atmosphere, according to Chief Executive Iain Renwick. It has dedicated consumers whose number is rising currently.
