Local cotton traders in tune with global markets thru internet

“With the introduction of detailed analysis, traders will have an opportunity to export to various market across the world,” Mr Doshi, who could not study beyond higher secondary, said. The equity and commodity brokerage firm recently tied up with a Chicago-based commodity firm for sourcing the elaborate analysis of cotton, which is then made available to the Surendranagar cotton traders.
Mr George said he would soon expand the information basket for various commodities and provide detailed information on other widely-traded commodities.
Similarly, Karvy Investor Services is contemplating on giving detailed analysis to traders in Deesa, Unjha and Palanpur, where commodities such as cumin, castor and potato are grown and traded.
“Our office communicates the market updates to the traders, but no reports are yet being delivered in the rural markets. We will soon provide detailed report in local languages to the traders,” Rajiv Nair of Karvy Investor Services said.
