Having received several bids for sale of its cotton stock mostly, Grade II, the Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) has accepted many of them
The cotton sold will be utilised within the country.
Bids for Grade-II cotton ranged Rs.2225 to 2366 per 40 kg bale.
As for Grade-III cotton the range was quoted between Rs.2186 to 2325 per 40 kg.
Meanwhile, export purpose bids ranged between 41 to 43 cents per pound.
Following compnies bid for respective cotton bales:
Of the 65 companies featuring in the lsit of bidders were Yahya Textiles 3000 bales; Shah Jewna Textiles, Chakwal Spinning, Abu Bakar textile, Rubi textile and Silver Fibre Spinning Mills, 1000 bales each besides Lalazar Spinning's 700 bales.
The total quantity of cotton bids amounted to 1,11,000 bales of cotton.
