Cotton trading at Karachi Cotton Exchange was uneventful Tuesday, as prices stayed firm amidst reports of cotton crop being damaged due rains in lower Sindh.
Cotton traded Rs 2350 per maund while finer variety was sold at Rs 2450 per maund.
Spinners were active at buying poor quality cotton for producing yarn riding on the local market demand.
Meanwhile, reports convey that Sindh crop is affected by hot spots of white fly while American bollworm has caused harm to standing crops in Punjab.
Sindh crop (about 200 bales) was traded between Rs 2,450 per maund to Rs 2,550 per maund on delivery basis.
New lot was also traded between spinners and ginneries at Rs 2,375 per maund.
