While spot rate remained at Rs 2,225 per maund, barely 600 bales changed hands during the trading session at Karachi Cotton Assciation market, Tuesday.
The bales mainly originated from Sanghar station in Sindh, traded at Rs 2,250 per maund for 600 bales of quality cotton purchased by a few leading textile mills.
Spinners sought new crop at Rs 2,225 per maund, but deal were far and few in the spot market.
On the physical front, prices of cotton fluctuated between Rs 2,225 to Rs 2,300 per maund.
Punjab and Sindh ginners are said to be active on the new crop front as mills and spinners are expected to build up considerable demand.
KCA announced that 100 bales Khipro crop was traded at Rs 2,275 per maund, Mirpurkhas (100 bales) went at Rs 2,250 per maund, and Punjab variety in unspecified quantity was sold at Rs 2,260 per maund.
