Czech Republic has witnessed a major drop in cotton consumption in 2005; this is because local cotton yarn requirements are imported rather than spinning cotton at home.
From January to October, total cotton yarn imports saw 9.7 percent year-on-year increase, reaching the mark of 13858 tons.
With a quick increase in exports from Turkey, other leading exporters were Germany, Italy and India.
Germany registered a nominal surge of 3.8 percent, while Italian exports recorded 31.7 percent rise to 2,687 tons.
Though Turkey supplied the smallest portion of cotton yarn in comparison to the other suppliers, imports from Turkey increased by 173.4 percent year-to-date.
Recent months saw decline in demand, making suspect the continued growth through the end of the year.
Imports during October plunged 13 percent to 1161 tons. German and Italian exports dropped while Indian supplies boosted.
