Cotton imports amount to 8961 bales during October

Cotton imports of Peru have slowed down in recent months.
Imports during October amounted only to 8961 bales, from which 7530 bales exported by the United States.
From January to October, total cotton imports remain up 46.2 percent in comparison to previous year levels at 187198 bales of which 39043 bales were ELS, 36968 bales of which were US Pima.
Cotton imports from Upland surged 50.1 percent to 148155 bales. The United States and Brazil were leading exporters.
During the same span, cotton exports amounted to 7102 bales, recording a fall of 37.1 percent.
