Exporters discuss issues in Colombo meet

Major exporters in the country approached the government and explained the problems that plagued the domestic manufacturers and requested proper intervention by the authorities.

Exporters believe that they should be provided with cheaper electricity and energy resources that will help them survive in the international market.

Over 100 leading exporter of Sri Lanka were present at this meet, being held today, in Colombo, where Rohitha Bogollagama, Minister, promised to resolve these issues.

Apparel industry is in dire need to employ at least another 50,000 workers but it is hard to find people with required qualification and skills.

Exporters from this sector informed the media that most of apparel workers are dissatisfied in their jobs due to the poor wages and lack of other facilities.
