210 Footwear Foundation invites requests for scholarships

Two Ten just completed the first quarter of fiscal year 2009 with financial assistance awards totaling more than $238,000, a 34% increase over the close to $178,000 awarded during the same period last year.

Close to $345,000 in scholarship payments have been awarded to assist 420 scholars with their fall 2008 semester tuition payments. Two Ten anticipates awarded more than $700,000 in scholarship awards by the conclusion of the 2008/2009 academic year.

Applications for the 2009/2010 academic year will be made available online in November. Scholarship posters and payroll inserts will be available shortly. Please click here to order scholarship materials.

Thanks to the kind generosity of board member, David Jay, we our proud to introduce our newest scholarship, The Jay Group Scholarship for Entrepreneurship. This scholarship will be available to students who display an entrepreneurial spirit and are pursuing a business degree at a recognized undergraduate business school.

Recipients are eligible to receive awards of up to $15,000 annually, renewable for four years. Students interested in The Jay Group Scholarship for Entrepreneurship will need to contact the Scholarship Department

Between July and September, 289 footwear employees contacted Two Ten for counseling, financial assistance and/or community resource referral services. Of those, 96% received one or more services from Two Ten.
