Saigon Garment Company no 3 has signed a free on board (FOB) contract to export five million jeans pairs worth US $50 million to a Japanese consumer in 2007.
According to Pham Xuan Hong, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City based firm, delivery will be through one batch consisting of same style jeans as per consumer's demand. Previously, contracts were executed in small quantities and they involved different styles.
Japan has emerged as a strong market for Vietnamese apparel. Transactions worth more dollars could be made if skilled and properly trained labourers are hired.
