Almost a year after the execution of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, his diamond embellished Rolex is put up for auction. The watch on sale is said to have been a gift from Saddam to Haitham Wihaib, who was very popular for being the ex-President's most reliable man.
Wihaib, who assisted Hussein for about 20 years, anticipates drawing a sum of nearly 100,000 pounds from this sale.
Besides, a pair of Dior sunglasses worth £6,000, a ring valued at £1,500 and a Cartier pen of £2,500, also belonging to Saddam Hussein, will be put up for sale.
Sources assured that Saddam used the pen to sanction death warrants and another research has proved the watch to be authentic.
