To date, including the present edition, some 65 up-and-coming designers have taken part at this forum, achieving the necessary momentum to continue pursuing their professional careers within the world of fashion over subsequent years. Over the years, two designers from EL EGO have been incorporated into the catwalk schedule at CMFW: María Escote and Martín Lamothe.
The tenth edition of EL EGO coincided with the debut of Burger King as the Official Sponsor for this forum. Burger King's support for EL EGO has gone beyond the conventional sponsorship of the event, given that the food chain also offered a grant for one of the designers taking part in the Showroom-Market at EL EGO to study for a year at the prestigious Central St. Martin's College. The winner at this first edition, as announced on 22nd September, the last day of CIBELES MADRID FASHION WEEK, was Dolfie, a footwear company created by Bárbara de Assis and Adolfo Lendoyro.
