MADRID NOVIAS, the International Bridal Fashion Exhibition, has already begun the count-down for its ninth edition, which is due to take place between 5th and 8th May at Feria de Madrid. As at previous editions, this fair, which is organised by IFEMA, will host the staging of a programme of fashion shows on the CIBELES MADRID NOVIAS catwalk over its first two days, an event designed to coincide with the exhibition itself.

At these shows, more than twenty companies will present all of the different styles that currently exist under the headings of wedding fashion, Party-Wear and First Communion attire in the collections for the new year 2012 Season.

In total, visitors to CIBELES MADRID NOVIAS will be able to view thirteen bridal fashion collections, five bridegroom collections, three party-wear collections, one lingerie collection and seven shows devoted to First Communion attire and page and bridesmaid attire. For its part, the exhibition will feature the participation of some 60 companies.

A Diverse Range of Ideas
The Fashion Show Programme will open with a presentation of the new bridal collection from Ana Torres, followed by presentations of the collections belonging to Isabel Zapardiez, Rafael Urquizar, Emperatriz (the lingerie firm), Charo Péres and Miquel Suay, all on the morning of the first day. The afternoon session will kick off with a show featuring the designs of Franco Quintáns, who will be taking part at the fair for the first time at this edition. The first day of the Programme will conclude with the creations of Hannibal Laguna.

Cintya Vila, another of the new faces at this edition of PASARELA CIBELES MADRID NOVIAS, will open the second day of the proceedings on Friday 6th May with her collection, followed by shows organised by Jorge Terra, La Boheme 1994 (another new firm at this edition) and Javier Arnáiz. The afternoon session will be devoted to a joint fashion show for companies specialising in First Communion and page and bridesmaid attire, based on the participation of the following brands: Hortensia Maeso for Rubio Kids, Barcarola, Miquel Suay, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Javier Larrainzar, Lovely Day and Victorio y Lucchino.

A double fashion show will then be staged featuring the designs of Paula del Vals and Pol Núñez, both new additions to the Fashion Show Programme at this edition. The Programme will conclude on this occasion with the bride and bridegroom fashion collection from Devota & Lomba.

As an initial preview, the key aspects for the season will focus on the use of exquisite materials such as silk, guipure and lace, together with some carefully-produced designs, based on both classic and romantic styles and other less conventional approaches. For men, the traditional dark suit will be reworked and will incorporate various new and discreet touches.

Throughout the course of the fair, MADRID NOVIAS will be open from 9.30 a.m. through to 7.30 p.m.,except on Sunday 8th when the event will close at 4.30 p.m.
