Estée Lauder reports net sales $1.58 billion for Q3

The Estée Lauder Companies Inc reported $1.58 billion in net sales for its third fiscal quarter ended March 31, 2006, a 3 percent increase over the $1.53 billion reported in the prior year. Excluding the impact of foreign currency translation, net sales rose 6 percent.
Primarily due to a special charge of $51.6 million, equal to $.15 per common share associated with the Company's previously announced cost savings initiative, the Company reported net earnings from continuing operations for the quarter ended March 31, 2006 of $63.2 million, compared with $107.6 million last year.
