Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) in India's western Mumbai city witnessed some city-based designers showcasing their creations on the second day.
Designer Bennu Sehgall collection was based 'original' on a pastel colour palette of champagne to beige in chiffon and satin as each garment dazzled on the ramp.
The flowing gowns with rhinestone straps generated an old world charm.
Men'swear with chiffon pants, matching wrap skirts, pleated off white trousers and flowing black tissues had a flamboyant air.
Along with beige background the use of black and white with a tinge of colour, the completeness of age became easier to depict, Sehgall said.
City-based designer Maheka Mirpuri's collection showcased glamour of the Bollywood Red Carpet inspired by 1970s Hindi films.
Her collection was a mix of western and traditional including from ethnic wears, saris with animal prints, mini kurtis (short top) with leggings and salwar kameez (a traditional Indian women's wear).
Fabrics were chiffon, georgette, satin, denim and a dash of leather.
LFW is the first independently organised fashion show by accessories major, Lakme.
Apart from the regular fashion shows Lakme Fashion Week has also events like media seminars, business-to-business meetings and a buyers' forum lined up.
