Clothes Show Live, at the heart of British fashion, is dedicated to nurturing and supporting the future of British design. As well as selling their collections in the Graduate ASOS Marketplace, situated in the Vision Village area of the show, the designers have been given the opportunity to sell their collections online in their own boutique through the ASOS Marketplace from January 2013.
To further support young fashion talent the show has runs an extensive educational programme headed up by Caryn Franklin, which includes Q&A sessions, seminars and workshops with industry experts including fashion designers, stylists and trend experts.
Maryam Hamizadeh, Show Producer for Clothes Show Live, said “We’re absolutely thrilled to be supporting these exceptional young designers at Clothes Show Live this year. We were blown away by the standard of entries we received, but the 10 that were selected were standout applicants. We’re dedicated to seeking out and advocating new British fashion talent at Clothes Show Live and this is just one of the many ways that we are doing this. Our Style Studio will offer expert advice to anyone with an interest in breaking into the fashion industry, and the line-up this year is exceptional.”
Katie Oldham, ASOS Marketplace Senior manager, said “I’m so excited about the designers we’ve chosen to sell their collections in the ASOS Graduate Marketplace at Clothes Show Live. We can’t wait to help them open their own boutiques online in January too. I know they will all do incredibly well on the site.”
Applications were open to any emerging graduate designers who completed their course between May 2009 and May 2012. The successful candidates were selected by a panel of judges including buyers from ASOS, celebrity stylist Karl Willett and the Clothes Show Live team.
This year’s five-day event will feature catwalk shows and shopping from internationally acclaimed brands and high street labels, as well as showcasing work by up and coming, independent designers. Combining the glamour and excitement of the catwalk shows at London Fashion Week with the drama of a West End production, the famous Suzuki Fashion Theatre will feature Daisy Lowe as part of its 45 minute spectacular show, featuring 40 models and dancers on stage.
