Valentino Fashion Group posts double-digit profit rise in 2005

In the first two months of 2006 the group confirmed the growth trend with sales up by 11 percent to €421 million. Considering the orders backlog and the expected development of the direct retail, the sales increase for the whole year is expected to be in line with the first two months.

Furthermore, considering the results of the first two months and the expected evolution of margins and costs structure during the year, the management is expecting an improvement in operating and pre-tax profits, more than proportional compared to the rise in sales.

Valentino Fashion Group SpA - The group's principal activities are the manufacturing and marketing of high fashion clothing, accessories and footwear for men and women. The products are marketed under trademarks such as Valentino, Hugo Boss, Marlboro Classic, M Missoni, Principe and Uomo Lebole.

The group is present in more than 100 countries, with 1,300 single-brand boutiques and 130 directly-managed shops. It was established in 2005 as the result of the spin-off of Manifattura Lane Gaetano Marzotto & Figli S.p.A.
