PUMA Charity Kollection proceeds for UNITED FOR AFRICA

Shoes and apparel maker PUMA and charitable organisation U1NITED FOR AFRICA will announce their joint partnership which, using innovative promotions, will generate donations and raise international awareness for the 30 aid organisations that came together in the concerted campaign UNITED FOR AFRICA at press conference in Berlin.

At the conference hosted by Ghananian football player and journalist Anthony Baffoe, Jochen Zeitz, PUMA CEO, and Susanne Anger, spokesperson UNITED FOR AFRICA, will reveal details of the campaign and present planned joint events.

Several celebrity supporters including UNITED FOR AFRICA good will ambassador Anne Will and Hamburger SV-stars Thimothée Atouba and Guy Demel will attend the conference. Hip-hop artist Akon and his legendary percussionist and jazz musician father Mor Thiam, MTV-presenter Sarah Kuttner and Faithless frontman Maxi Jazz will be presenting their events as a support of UNITED FOR AFRICA.

The press conference will include the unveiling of the PUMA Charity Collection: the styles exclusively created for the cooperation will be premiered in a special fashion show. The new, limited edition PUMA charity kollection will donate a customer-transparent amount from each collection item to UNITED FOR AFRICA. The collection will be available from the end of May 2006 at 10 different locations nationwide, including PUMA Concept Stores.

As a special highlight of the cooperation PUMA and UNITED FOR AFRICA will present the UNITED FOR AFRICA retail entertainment tram: Equipped with special informative and interactive material, and an outlet for the UNITED FOR AFRICA Charity Collection, the trams will run on allocated routes around Berlin from the beginning of June to the middle of July, promoting the UNITED FOR AFRICA campaign.
