S Kumars to augment merchandise on eve of festivals

Ahead of the coming festivals, S Kumars Nationwide Limited (SKNL) is gearing up to develop its product line.

Company is in the process to relocate its Reid & Taylor men's wear range as a complete attire range.

Reid & Taylor has a market share of 15 percent in its group and is mounting by nearly 35 percent alongside the class average of 3 percent.

S Kumars aspire to swell the number of Reid & Taylor outlets to 45 from the existing 24 in the next four months.

The brand is supposed to have 100 stores, each with an area of 2000 square feet and an investment of Rs 25-30 lakhs. Reid & Taylor fabric and clothing lines will also be accessible in large designed outlets such as Central, Pyramid and Shoppers Stop and in multi-brand stores.

It is proposed to launch 30 exclusive domicile textile outlets by the end of the year.

The company has lately positioned an ancillary, Brandhouse Retail Limited, to take out its development plans.

Tarun Joshi, Chief Executive Officer, Brand House Retail, said, "At hand, we are seeing a huge market in the Tier II cities, especially Patna, Siliguri, Guwahati, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Jamshedpur in the east."

S Kumars is set to open a mid-priced men's wear brand in August.

Joshi said it also devices to bring three International luxury and super premium brands into the country and is raising $50 million to finance the expansion strategy.

Company has recorded a revenue of Rs 889.73 crore for the year ended March 2006.

While the working earnings rose by 124 percent to 152.46 crore from Rs 33.92 crore in the preceding financial year, earnings after tax increased by a gigantic 445.2 percent to Rs 99.77 crore from 9.15 crore.

Group expects trade to turn into two folds by 2009-10.
