Wella AG Chairman Dr Heiner Gürtler to retire in October

Germany based cosmetic supplier Wella AG' Chairman, Dr. Heiner Gürtler announced he intents to resign from his position as Chairman of the Management Board of Wella AG effective 1 October 2005. Today the Supervisory Board of Wella AG has been advised about his intention. The Supervisory Board accepted his decision with deep regret. A successor to Heiner Gürtler as Chairman of the Management Board of Wella AG has not yet been appointed.
Following more than eleven years of successful service on the Management Board of Wella AG and conclusion of the combination of Wella's and P&G's global Professional and Prestige businesses within one new "P&G Global Prestige & Professional Care" organization under his management, Heiner Gürtler (63) retires.
In 2000, Heiner Gürtler became Chairman of the Management Board of Wella AG in addition to his function as Managing Director of Cosmopolitan Cosmetics GmbH, Cologne. Since 2004, as Group President within P&G, he has also been responsible for the global P&G Prestige & Professional Care organization.
