PTC the Product Development Company, announced that its customer, Patagonia, has expanded its use of FlexPLM, PTC's Retail, Footwear and Apparel solution, to optimize the design and manufacturing of its apparel lines.
Patagonia, a leading producer and marketer of clothing for outdoor sports, hopes to use the PTC solution to improve operational efficiency by providing a single version of product information that is visible across its product development teams and supply partners.
As a brand devoted to the unique, constantly changing requirements of outdoor enthusiasts, Patagonia recognizes the strategic role constant innovation plays in designing and delivering high performance, high quality clothing.
PTC's proven PLM solutions enable companies to streamline line development in order to maximize technical innovations to address consumer trends.
Patagonia is using PTC to help manage their multi-product line, which involves both global suppliers and distribution channels. In addition, Patagonia is taking advantage of the capabilities this solution offers to gain early visibility into the makeup of the line to identify any modifications, such as late adds or drops.
This early visibility enables companies to quickly communicate modifications to the entire team in order to minimize market delays or increased product costs.
"Patagonia's focus is quality," noted Mike Busch, director of IT, Patagonia. "We're happy to be partnering with PTC as our single source PLM provider because of their commitment to a quality product that's reliable, stable and flexible."
