Uniqlo has decided to launch a recycling campaign where, people can return Uniqlo-brand clothes which will then be either donated to refugee camps or recycled for future use.
The experimental initiative in September was a success and more than 140,000 pieces of clothing were shipped to refugees in Thailand and Nepal.
Company said that customers can now drop off all old garments twice a year, in March and September, at any of the chain's 730 domestic stores.
Clothes that are still useable will be offered to charities such as the UN High Commission for Refugees and the rest will be reprocessed to be used as heat insulation or fuel.
