Sisley to ink JV deal with Trent

Many internationally renowned apparel brands are eyeing to plant their roots in the Indian soil due to its retail boom.
Adding to this trend, Trent, the largest and fastest growing retail store chains from Tata group, is about to ink a distribution partnership deal with Sisley, the premium fashion brand from Benetton, by the end of next month.
This treaty will be the first ever joint venture between an Indian business house and a foreign apparel brand to enter into high street retail.
When Fibre2fashion contacted Benetton India Private Limited to comment on this, official sources said, "Benetton has been in this country for 16 years and has managed to get a firm foothold in the minds of the consumers by catering to tastes and aspirations of the young Indian consumers.
The company continues to provide the best in style and fashion by constantly innovating and re-invigorating itself. One of our key brand initiatives in the market has been the launch of our brand Sisley in India last year with the aim of bringing premium cutting edge fashion to the consumers. We are happy with the performance of Sisley in the first year of launch."
The source also said, "Keeping the development of the fashion retail segment in mind, we would like all our brands to cater to a larger consumer base. Scaleability, with a higher degree of focus on each of brands, is something which we are aiming for. There are plans in the pipeline for both our brands UCB and Sisley and the company will share its details once these plans have been firmed up."
