Muses & Nymphs collection to hit Majestic Ballroom

Andres Aquino's inspiration for Spring 2009 is the muses and nymphs of Greek Mythology. The collection is reminiscent of the designer's childhood when his imagination was fueled by those timeless stories and legends. The collection will be shown on the runway on Saturday, September 6, 2008 in the Majestic Ballroom of the elegant Westin Times Square Hotel, in the heart of the Big Apple as part of Couture Fashion Week.
The Muses were symbols and guardians of dance, song, love, epic and sacred poetry, tragedy, astronomy, comedy and history. The Nymphs presided over waters or springs which were believed to inspire those that drank of them, and hence the Nymphs themselves were thought to be endowed with prophetic or oracular powers, and to inspire men with the same, and to confer upon them the gift of poetry. Mr. Aquino's "Muse Collection" features fluid feminine gowns adorned with fine Japanese lace.
The designs reflect the rich natural colors of forests, rivers and fountains where the Muses and Nymphs dwelt. A variety of artistic elements, including dance and poetry, come together in the creation of the unforgettable designs. Dubbed the Urban Renaissance Man by Latino Future magazine, Andres Aquino is founder and producer of Couture Fashion Week, a writer and photographer as well as a talented fashion designer.
He recently shown his creations in July 2008 at the Romanian Summer Fashion Festival, and has presented his designs in Palm Beach, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia and New York City at the Waldorf Astoria, St. Regis and Westin Times Square ballrooms. Couture Fashion Week is a multi-day event showcasing couture and luxury fashion. It also includes exhibits of luxury brands and fine art as well as world-class entertainment and receptions.
The event is held in top venues in New York City, Palm Beach, Florida and other selected cities and is attended by upscale consumers, invited VIPs, the press and high-end store buyers. Couture Fashion Week offers unique branding opportunities for luxury products and services.
